How to cancel iCloud+

Find the billing provider, follow its cancellation steps, and check the confirmation before you stop tracking iCloud+.

Official instructions checked 2026-11-04. Steps and terms can vary by plan, country and billing provider.

Prepare your storage

Download or remove content exceeding your next storage allowance before cancelling iCloud+.

iPhone or iPad

On iOS/iPadOS 18.4 or later:

  1. In Settings, select your name.
  2. Under Subscriptions, open iCloud+.
  3. Select Cancel Subscription and finish the prompts. For a smaller paid plan, use See All Plans instead.

On versions 18–18.3, use Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Plan → Downgrade Options. On version 17 or earlier, use Manage Account Storage instead of Manage Plan. Select the free plan to cancel.

Mac

On macOS Tahoe 26 or later, open System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Plan, then cancel or choose a smaller plan. Older versions use Downgrade Options; follow Apple’s version-specific steps.

Check the result

Confirm the new plan and effective date. Changes normally apply at the billing period’s end. Over-quota accounts stop syncing and completing backups. Cancelling also removes iCloud+ features; Apple One may still include storage.

For refunds and cancellation without an Apple device, use the relevant links in Apple’s current guide. Refund availability depends on your circumstances and applicable law.
