Cancel through Google One
- Sign in to Google One with the paying account.
- In Settings, choose Cancel membership, then confirm.
- Verify the cancellation and benefit end date.
On Android, the Google One app offers the same option under Menu → Settings.
Apple and family billing
For an App Store purchase, open Apple Settings → your name → Subscriptions, select Google One and cancel. Use the Apple account on your receipt.
If someone shares their membership with you, the paying manager must cancel it. Leaving the family does not stop their payments.
Storage after cancellation
Benefits normally end after the paid billing cycle. Shared extra storage ends too; accounts return to their default allowance, generally 15 GB each. Over-quota accounts can lose Gmail sending/receiving, Drive uploads and Photos backups. Reduce usage first.
US exception: Metro-sponsored memberships can end immediately on cancellation.
Refunds
Storage purchases are generally non-refundable, with regional exceptions. Use Google Play’s refund process for Play purchases and Apple’s for App Store purchases. Cancellation and refund requests are separate.
