Find where you subscribed
For a personal ChatGPT subscription, use the cancellation route for the company on your receipt: OpenAI, Apple or Google Play. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.

- Sign in to ChatGPT with the account you subscribed with.
- In your account menu, open Settings, then Billing.
- Find Cancel plan and choose Cancel. Complete any confirmation prompts.
- Check that renewal is off and note when paid access ends.

Cancel an Apple-billed subscription
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings and tap your name.
- Under Subscriptions, select ChatGPT.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm if prompted.
If an expiry date appears without a cancellation button, the subscription may already be cancelled. Check the Apple account on your receipt if ChatGPT is missing.

Cancel a Google Play subscription
- Open Google Play subscriptions using the Google account that made the purchase.
- Select ChatGPT, then Cancel subscription. On the website, open Manage first.
- Finish the prompts and check the subscription’s end date.
You can also use the Play Store app’s subscription settings. Removing the app leaves the subscription running.

Before you leave
Paid features normally last through the period already paid for. An approved refund can end access sooner. You do not need to delete your account to cancel; deleting it does not stop Apple billing.
If web billing controls are missing, try another browser with the same account. For lost access to an OpenAI-billed account, contact OpenAI Support for cancellation help.

Refunds
Cancellation does not issue a refund automatically. For web or Google Play purchases, sign in to the charged ChatGPT account and request a refund through the OpenAI Help Center chat. Apple purchases require a request to Apple.
